Kingston Jamaica July 25: Four Cubans believed to be part of a human trafficking
ring were hit with heavy fines Monday and ordered deported.
The
Cubans, 41-year-old Jorge Felix; 37-year-old Crespo Mario Antonio; 25-year-old Cruz Hernandez Paval and 25-year-old Sanchez
Vasquez, pleaded guilty when they appeared in the Half-Way-Tree Criminal Court.
They were each fined $50,000 for uttering
forged documents to local immigration officials.
The four Cubans were arrested on July 6 while they were trying to
leave the country on false travel documents.
They had arrived on a flight from Barbados and were preparing to board
a flight to Miami when they were held.
They were held in possession of false Puerto Rican birth certificates and driver
licence.
A senior investigator told the court Monday that the Cubans destroyed their original travel documents on the
flight from Barbados.
