ST. KITTS MARCH 22: This island's footballer Keith ‘Kayamba’ Gumbs continues to make his mark on football in Hong
Kong.
Gumbs lead his team Kitchee in a victory over Happy Valley in the Senior Shield Cup 3-0, in
a March 18 showdown at the Mongkok Stadium. A double from captain Keith Kayamba Gumbs in the 45th and 90th minute and
one
more from Jevic Ivan in the 86th minute gave Kitchee the victory.
Keith
Kayamba Gumbs won the top scorer award for his 4 goals in 3 games. This is the second time he has won the top scorer award
this season after winning the award in the League Cup.
Kitchee
has won 2 of the 4 trophies this season with the FA Cup still to compete for later this season.
St.
Kitts-Nevis’ Minister of State for Sport Richard Skerritt sent his regards to Gumbs and encouraged him to continue working
to maintain and improve his talent level. “Congratulations as you continue to speak volumes through football,”
he said.
The
local Special Olympic movement, which Kayamba is a huge supporter of, also congratulated the footballer and wished him well.
