June 16 Kingston Jamaica: A post mortem is to be conducted on the body of Spanish tourist Gomez Landaverde, who was found dead inside a hotel room in Negril on Tuesday morning.

The examination, according to Inspector Artel Colley, is to take place at the Cornwall Regional Hospital in Montego Bay.

The wife of the Spaniard was contacted, but it is a hotel representative who will identify the body for the post mortem.
Landaverde, 34, from Garcia Morato at Valla Dolid in Spain, was scheduled to leave the island later in the day. He had arrived a week earlier, on June 7.

He was found lying motionless in his bed at about 9:00 am by a housekeeper.

The police do not suspect foul play nor suicide, but those will have to be ruled out by the post mortem. Investigators say Landaverde displayed no unusual behaviour before his death.

"I understand that he said he had a problem back home and that he wanted to relax. But apart from that, nothing," the inspector said.
