June 5 Miami USA: AIR  Jamaica has added to its long list of awards and accolades by achieving the number one ranking among Caribbean and Latin American carriers for in-flight food and beverage service as voted on by visitors to www.airlinemeals.net, the world's first and leading site which deals with nothing but airline food.

Air Jamaica's cuisine earned a 7.85 average rating, outpacing LanChile (7.18), Varig (6.71), Mexicana (6.63) and TACA (5.30) among regional carriers receiving a minimum of 10 customer critiques.

"We have always strived to offer the best in-flight dining experience in the skies, so it's especially gratifying to receive this type of endorsement from our most important critics, our passengers," said Will Rodgers, Air Jamaica's senior vice-president of industry affairs.

Other notable awards recently bestowed upon Air Jamaica over the past year include:

Caribbean's Leading Airline (December 2004) presented at the World Travel Awards, Air Jamaica has received this prestigious honour for seven consecutive years.

Crystal Palm Award (November 2004) presented by the Caribbean Hotel Association (CHA). This honour recognises exceptional commitment to Caribbean tourism development.

Five Star Diamond Award (March 2004) presented by The Academy of Hospitality Sciences. Air Jamaica is a five-time winner of this coveted distinction.

The Air Jamaica fleet is comprised of modern Airbus A320, A321 and A340 jet aircraft. Air Jamaica operates 300+ weekly flights connecting cities in the U.S., Canada and the UK with destinations throughout the Caribbean.
